The Light of the World
Join us for the fascinating inside story of a beloved painting – William Holman Hunt’s The Light of the World,
a version of which has been on display at St Paul’s since the 1900s (although it has recently been removed from display whilst building
works are completed in the North Transept Inner Portico and Remember Me Memorial). Find out more about the different versions of the work;
their creation, and how the third and final version travelled the length and breadth of the planet before making its home in the Cathedral.

Controversial Colour: The Mosaics of St Paul’s Cathedral
This is the story of the interior decoration of St Paul’s Cathedral. What exactly did Sir Christopher Wren intend for his design, and why were so many artists involved over the years? Join us as we investigate the struggle to decide, and how William Blake Richmond was finally chosen to cover the ceiling of the Quire with brilliantly colourful mosaics – a controversial decision that remains controversial for some to this day.
